COMING SOON! "THE BEGGAR AND THE KING" AT THE NYPL, 145TH

This delightful play adaptation for children is based on Winthrop Parkhurst's original works "The Beggar and the King".

This story is about a king who is oblivious to the needs of his people and ignores the social issues confronting his kingdom like, poverty, anarchy, and social unrest.

This story is written to teach children the powerful responsibility that comes with such a title. Children will be able to understand, through a question and answer period after the  performance, that the illusions of prestigue, beauty, and authority all come with a price which pears consequences for everyone in a given society.

to be a "head of state" requires great responsibility and dignity. These are some of the values we want our children to understand so they can learn to make decisions based on concrete and solid facts which bear the results of "cause and effect"

The perfomance will be at the Grange Branch Library on 145th Street on the second floor; the children's Library. It is free to the Public.

At 2:00pm On August 21st.

Hope to see you there!!!
